Danielle (daughter) is the artisan behind our candle line. She crafts each by hand and formulates the Empress Scent originals.
Andrea (mother) loves to create custom gift boxes. We have a couple of fan favorites like our baby box but loves the challenge of building a gift unique to your occasion and budget.
Fun Fact - All of our scent names are named after people we know.
Candles are often used in decorative settings, however we wanted our customers to have a product that was not only beautiful and smelled wonderful but also was safe and beneficial. A win, win!
First we utilize only 100% soy wax.- No blends- Soy wax is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources; Basically it’s the oil from soybeans. whereas classic paraffin wax is made from petroleum and is non-renewable. A lot of candles on the market are made from paraffin or a paraffin blend because it’s inexpensive. It’s basically the wax that’s left over when crude oil is refined. Not only are there “green” advantages to choosing soy wax over a different type of candle wax, but soy wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer which makes it a better value.
While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soy wax burn cleaner resulting in less soot. Another reason to choose soy wax when it comes to candles is the fact that soy wax is an excellent fragrance carrier that does not require chemical amplifiers.
Speaking of fragrance we are committed to using clean scents. This is extremely important. Our fragrance oils are 100% phthalate free. In the past few years, researchers have linked phthalates to asthma, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, breast cancer, obesity and type II diabetes, low IQ, neurodevelopmental issues, behavioral issues, autism spectrum disorders, altered reproductive development and male fertility issues.
Our scents are also free from cancer causing agents, DNA altering agents, Reproductive Toxins and Organ toxins. So we have established that Empress Scents Candles are Safe. But how can you as the customer benefit? Again we have to look beyond the flame. Research has shown there are 5 main mind benefits to burning the right candle:

We personally hand craft all of our products and pour them ourselves in small batches. Working in small batches allows us to ensure the quality of each item is consistent and at the highest level.
